Back somewhere familiar

For the first time, we flew EasyJet to Iceland instead of Iceland Air. Similar prices to get to the airport, less time to get there, but much cheaper for the fight. Lunch in Giraffe and then boarding. At Duty Free, we had a bit of an impulse buy for the birthday girl, when we spotted rose Moet. You know that feeling when you don't have someone next to you and then just look like Meerkats, hoping that nobody else joins the flight? Well, we were those meerkats. Brucy Bonus, we had a spare seat. Good job, Ali didn't go to bed last night so needed sleep, big time.

Last off the plane as a family behind us all had big suitcases which didn't fit above, so was dotted over the plane. Que for me to start moaning about the size of hand baggage and the fact that people with small rucksacks gets penalised for people with big cases, because we have to put our bags under the seats. Moan over, Iceland awaits.

There is something very familiar about Iceland, we know where we are going when we get out of the airport, we know the roads, we know about driving on the other side of the road. It feels so homely. Due to gales and a strong tail wind, we were 30 mins early which meant our car wasn't ready but no fear, we found a shop that had Skyr, so about 10 mins after getting out of the airport, we had a Skyr in our hands.
