Olympic torch through Bedford

Three hours early for the Olympic Torch meant that we were the only ones there and could pick our spot. It rained for the entire 3 hour wait as the pavements swelled with people trying to push to the front, but after 3 hours, we weren't giving up our front row spot on the embankment in Bedford. The warm up act of the sponsors were first, then it was the torch. If you blinked you would have missed it. She ran so fast! It was a 13 year old torch bearer who had her leg amputated. I couldn't believe how fast she was going! Union jacks were waved, cheers for every vehicle including the portaloo tanker, and then dispersed, hobbling back to the car.
