People say that the time will fly by when you are planning a wedding and it's true! I had some advice very early on during the preparations: to really enjoy the planning bit because it's part of the wedding too. This is the best advice anyone could give, because it has felt that the wedding has lasted a very long time, and I'm not sure what I did with my life before planning a wedding.
We have had ups and downs along the planning journey but you move on. Our registrar going on maternity leave and not telling us, then the £140 form we had to get from our UK registrar had to be within 4 weeks of the wedding, we weren't told this. So we are now the proud owners of 4 forms, costing £280. The UK registrar even said 'I hope not to see you again' as we left, in the nicest possible way. However, that was tiny compared to the company who is providing our 'mystery form of transport' for the party going into liquidation! We weren't told, mum saw it on the front page of the Bristol Evening Post.
But all of that doesn't matter now. We had an amazing hen night at the Bath Thermae, I had a stag do reliving my uni life in Worcester with Phil and now we are in Iceland and in a few days time we will be married. Looking back, 5 years have flown by too. In 5 years we have lived in Bristol, Exeter and now St Neots, we travelled to Paris, Barcelona, China, Ireland, Scotland, Northern Ireland, Borneo, Galapagos Islands and Iceland. We developed 'whisking' and will frame our holidays on that forever. Ali discovered she hates carving pumpkins. We've been mug painting, had many windband Christmas's, sloshed in the mud at V Festival, felt sick at Cadbury World, Ali went camping for the first time!, we visited many spas, Sailor joined our family, multiple ratties, I hosted a High School Musical, Princess, PJ and Hannah Montana party for Liv and Caitlin and we bought our dream home.
That's all in 5 years, imagine what the rest of our lives will be!
