Honeymoon: Business class no less

It feels like just yesterday I was unpacking the suitcase, and today I had to pack it again. To say we are tired would be an understatement, we are shattered. I now realise the reason for honeymoons, to rest and sleep after an exhausting wedding. Unfortunately, the railway line below St Neots is out of power so we got a taxi to Bedford train station, then to St Pancras in rush hour. However, as soon as we got to Heathrow, we were in the land of no queues for baggage drop, a lovely lady at the business class check in and fast track security. However, it’s not so much fast track when the lady in front of you had 4 children, 2 of whom are twins in a buggy. My bag had to be searched….the reason….the amount of electronics. Charger after charger, wire after wire. Doesn’t everyone travel with their netbook, hard drive, ipad, camera, underwater camera, video camera?

I’m now sitting in the business class lounge, that resembles wagamama’s. It has mac’s you can use, comfy seats, a noodle bar, curries, lots of food and drink and alcohol. I’m looking around at the diversity of people in the room. I would have expected a lot more business people, you can tell them a mile away. However, there are a lot of older people, families, young tourists, a big mixture of people. Only 3 hours to wait until our flight. However, I have to admit that I’m edging to get out into the main terminal to people watch, there isn’t much to see in the wagamama style lounge.

None of this waiting lark, we went straight from the lounge onto the plane! We each have our own pods, can raise our feet and go down onto a flat bed, even the seat belt is padded! We have big wide screen TV’s with hundreds of films, cupboards, a mirror, night cream!. A table cloth and tray with glass, cocktails and metal cutlery. What I thought was our main meal turn out to be a roasted veg and salad starter, then chicken course, then cheese course, then dessert, then hot chocolate! They bring each course separately like a restaurant. On with the duvet and pillow, it was time to sleep with the eyemask and ear plugs. However, I was tempted to sleep with the Tv head set on, it blocks all outside sound! 5 hours sleep, not bad at all.
