A long walk around Marston Vale
A favourite walk, but it wasn't Sailors favourite today. After 2.5 hours of walking, he was very tired and lagging behind. He didn't recover for 48 hours after the walk! It was lovely, spring is in the air, I burnt my shoulders, and there are green buds on the trees. Walking in the morning is best as it gets pretty crowded, but a walk around both lakes really stretches the legs, especially Sailors.

Two and a half miles? But he's a greyhound! He's supposed to get a snooze every twenty minutes! LOL!
Seriously, maybe he was hot. Black dogs do feel the heat more - Jeffie droops very quickly on a warm day.
Oh sailor didn't stand up for a whole 24 hours after, he was shattered but is in training for Lincolnshire :)
Being black he does get hot quickly, apparently there are reflective greyhound coats, might investigate. He already has 3 different coats, spoilt sailor :)
One of the reflective coats might work - you do have to make sure to put them on when the dog is cool, otherwise they just trap the heat inside, so they're worse.
A cheaper way is to take an old towel you can just soak with cold water and lay on him till it gets warm. Rinse and repeat, as they say!
