Camping in Royston
Camping on the bank holiday can only mean one thing, rain and lots of it. The weather forecast was changing by the second so we went anyway. We arrived late on the Friday night and only just had enough time to get the tent up before it was dark. The next day I was in heaven, sat outside with a cup of coffee, before everyone else had woken up. I cooked eggy bread on our stove (what else!) and then it was time to explore Therfield heath in Royston. We went for a lovely walk along the chalky pathways and free parking was a bonus. After the walk we had the compulsory bbq, which burnt everything. Alas, then the rain started and just didn't finish so after a soggy night, we left mid morning and abandoned the last night away in the rain.
