Glory glory Tottenham Hotspur
After the Olympics, we decided to try lots of other sports. Last year we went to a cricket match, this year we went to a football match to see Tottenham Hotspur vs. Crystal Palace. We met Ali's Dad at Liverpool Street to get the train to White Hart Lane, I've never been so conscious of my gender before, nor felt so short.
On route, David kindly bought us a programme from his lucky vendor, a sausage baguette from his lucky burger van and a Spurs scarf to get us in the mood for the game. Oh the seats are cosy but at least you keep warm from being surrounded by body heat. We started by singing 'Glory glory Tottenham Hotspur'. The first half was interesting, even with my little knowledge about football, I'm sure they are meant to move towards the other goal a lot more than they did. Just after the match started, there was a penalty and the fans were not impressed and shouting at the referee.
The second half was much more fun and very good for the thighs as the goal was at our end and everytime the ball got close, we stood up. The adrenaline rush is really exciting and I loved watching the crowd when the two goals were scored. David explained the game to me. I hadn't realised how hard it is to keep your eye on the ball. The footballers seriously move their feet all over the place.
All in all, we absolutely loved it, loved the atmosphere, loved the adrenaline rush of getting a goal.
