WIll you sign our boobs?
What a day! It started with a few hours in the spa ad Ali and I agreeing that one day we will buy the heated spa loungers when we are rich and famous. After lunch in Vilagio we listened to proms on the park and then met Simon for a drink. While Ali napped I sat in the grimey reception on what was supposed to be red seats, but were in fact black. We couldn't even get to see Kelis and were crushed in the crowd so we used our 'al card' and constructed a boat format around us to get her through, and onto the women's disabled area. We saw Horse, and a pink tribute act and was greeted by a very hyper jen, without a coat who then walked with us to Al's hotel.
I must have drawn the short straw becuase in taking Jen to the toilet, we went to the top floor of the hotel and then raced against the other lifts to each floor, changing lifts at every oppurtunity and when Jen ran out and got in a lift with a lot of other people, I stayed in the lift I was in. However, Jen had pressed every button so at the next floor a man got in and looked at me really strangely like I did it so I came out with the classic line 'a child was in here and she pressed every button'. At midnight! He so didn't believe me. I found Jen again on the 2nd floor (ater me and the man went to floor 3, then 2, then 1...
We finally found the toilet and walked out. However, Horse was by the lifts so I very embarassingly shouted 'that's horse' to Jen, and she instantly said "would you sign our boobs"!!!! Where did that come from!
Jen was slightly intoxicated but freezing so we covered her in our coats to the point that she couldn't move her arms, and then later found out that her green flow stick had leaked al over the red sofa!
Amazing night!!!!

Alfie was born
A wonderful lazy morning after going to bed at 3am. To suprise Ali, we went to build a bear where she chose a unstuffed bear, I put a voice in him, we both kissed his heart before he was stuffed and then we did his birth certificate and Alfie was born. We then went to Pesto for Italian tapas before the parade with strange quick downpours of rain. This year was the first parade I hadn't been in for 4 years :( It was such a buzz watching but oh so much better to be in it.
After the parade we walked around the village and the marketplace, ali bought braces and a mouse hat :) and then we had a rest before dinner. Chinese this time. But then guess where we spent the rest of the evening.....EDEN!!!! and left at 2am so an early night :)

I'm not drunk, I can still mapread
It's that time of year again, when we spend an entire day driving up to Manchester but it's oh so worth it. We left Exeter at 10:30 and had to pick up Al in Bristol but strangely the pride corsa carrying 5 revellers passed us just outside of Bristol even though they were meant to leave hours before :)
At 5:30, we finally arrived in Manchester to go around the city centre twice becuase of the stupid one way system. We dropped off Al at her luxury 4* MacDonald hotel with spa and gym and then went onto our 'special' travelodge. Oh it was a treat, with stains on the walls, our view of the bins, the lifts never go on our floors, they only go above or below, the air conditioning is outside our window so it constantly has a dull noise, we have mould on the extractor in the bathroom and chips out of the bath. Oh it was 'special' indeed.
Funnily enough, we didn't want to stay in the travelodge any longer than necessary for fear of catching something so we walked into town and had a thai meal and then entered the bubble of Manchester Pride and as usual, our destination was Eden. And what table, the lube table of our first year!
Much to Al's annoyance, Jen played the 'my friend is on crutches' card and jumped the queue to get the wrist bands. We had shot after shot, after shot, to the point that they gave us all free t-shirts. A few prides ago, Jen and I pledged to never play 'I have never' together again, however, enough shots caused the start of the game.
Needless to say, we had a long walk home the wrong way with me saying "I'm not drunk, see I can still mapread!"

Bristol fun day
I didn't expect for Olivia to join us at the Brownie Bristol fun day but when those eyes say 'please can I come to brownies', I just couldn't refuse! Twisted around her little finger. Livvy had to promise to call me kiwi for the entire day but she was loving it. We went on the Bristol open top bus and then onto the blue reef aquarium, and the imax.

Not the first Bristol Pride
Although badged the first Bristol pride, I hasten to add that I went to see Gina G on a pallet a few years ago in Bristol, but Bristol pride was back. Although my work colleagues arrived 1 minute before we left, my 'rent a crowd' was out in force as we walked through the streets of Bristol behind our banner. Al, still on crutches was on a full body workout walking up and down the hills and I realised I'm getting told when I went to the galleries to go to the toilet instead of going in a portaloo. Sonique was amazing but the downpour wasn't :( However, it did cause some very interested mud wrestling :)
