WIndband Christmas
This years windband christmas was courtesy of Al. We hada gorgeous dinner followed by a bristolian picture quiz by moi, jens very hard music quiz but I was qith nicky so my purpose in the team was to hold the paper. We then played scene it and I realised quite how poor my movie knowledge is. Jen and I would be the handicap on any quiz team. We had the annual ball balancing competition and secret santa/

Avocet Cruise - where is it????
After spending the whole week travelling, I wasn't impressed with having to get a bus from Taunton to Exeter. However, we were going on a bird cruise. I don't have a vaste bird knowledge but I've learned a lot more as a result of the cruise. I learned that Goldeneye is actually a bird, not just a james bond movie. We saw hundreds of avocets, cormorants, shags, gulls etc. We also saw plover, shanks and lots of other names that I didn't know, and couldn't see but apparently they were there. Ali and I were without a doubt the youngest there, and actually fitted in quite well with our waterproof coats and bobble hats :)

Too many disasters!
What a disastorous trip! It started off when I couldn't walk over the glass floor to get into terminal 5 cos I suffer from vertigo. I then ordered lunch in 'Giraffe' and wondered why the waitress said 'is that it'. The reason is becuase my mouth and my finger is not concide, I ordered a bowl of homous and that's it. This is all before i left the UK!
Then when i arrived at my hotel I found out that the hotel booking service didn't book my hotel, so i had to upgrade to a VIP room at £250 a night! Then I found out that cos the hotel booking people couldn't get hold of me on the flight, they phoned mum asking to speak to my next of kin! It shook her up so much that she couldn't speak. She thought the worse.
The next day, the lift closed on me and didn't open again! I got trapped in the middle! I also had the most amazing nose bleed for half and hour. I was almost going to phone the doctor becuase I was loosing so much blood that it was pouring out of my nose and making me light headed! I used a whole toilet roll!
I hadn't even got to the meeting by this stage! I eventually got to the meeting and it was very successful, apart from the blood that was dried to my nose. I'd never met these people before, I always like to make an impression.
On the way back to the UK, I couldn't leave terminal 5. After a good 15 mins of coazing myself to walk on a glass floor, lots of tears, a stranger helped me over the flass floor. Disaster after disaster.

Back to the bubble
Jen and I waited 364 days to be back in the bubble so we were ever so slightly hyper on the drive up to Manchester. We drove to Birmingham and I had lunch consisting of a whole goat (well it's cheese anyway but it could have build a house)! We drove further north, dancing the YMCA (including Jen who was driving), listending to 'Viva Viva', pulling straight men and blowing kisses through the window and stopping for Madams multiple wee stops.
I was dropped off at the appartment and I'd died and gone to heaven, it was gorgeous! We went for dinner in Villagio and continued to the bars. Some of us a lot later than others. On the Sat we marched in the parade again and got the huge adrenaline rush by waving to the crowd, blowing whistles, giving out merchandise. It wasn't really a sober evening that night and I won't be posting the piccies. I have very good memories of dancing with Jen's flip flops tho...and thats all I'm going to write.
The next day, I was still bouncing off the walls drunk but had to be professional and talk to the public. Had a great time in the bubble and never ever want to leave but the countdown to 2009 begins.

V Festival 2008
With a line up including Alanis Morisette, Stereophonics, Zutons, The Feeling, Scouting for Girls, Girls Aloud, Prodigy, Muse, Chemical Brothers and Kaisher cheifs...nothing was going to stop us going to V Festival. The music was absolutely amazing and it was so nice to be in that atmosphere again but looking back, I should have appreciated every blade on grass while it was there. It rained from 4pm on day one until the next morning! We are hardened festival goers who are so whimpy about camping and using horrid toilets and not having a shower, that we booked a travel lodge. It's never been so good to be dry.
Day 2nwas a complete mud bath which started with a shallow layer of mud and water covering the whole field. However, as the day went on, the mud was getting deeper and deeper. It was well over the ankles of our wellies and I didn't realise how hard it is to walk in mud! On the plus side, we lasted the whole day without falling until we were leaving and ali's boot stuck in the mud. It would have been hilarious to watch becuase we couldn't actualy go anyway so all we did was bend 90 degrees! Our boots held us in!
Amazing weekend, amazing bands and can't wait to go next year...minus the mud
